Why Us

You matter to God — and you matter to us.

Keys to Life Tabernacle is committed to empowering and edifying everyone in our congregation. We thrive on preaching and teaching that adds to our relationship with God, a sense of belonging, lively worship and strong friendships. We look forward to providing solid Biblical education and opportunities for people who want to be involved in building the Kingdom of God.

Our Mission

To help people see life through the lens of God's Word, build real and loving relationships, and carry the Gospel beyond our walls into Calais and the surrounding communities — one family, one neighbor, one soul at a time.

Community

We are a community of like precious faith, sharing the Gospel with everyone — regardless of race, age, or economic status. Around here, nobody is a stranger for long. We worship together, pray together, eat together, and carry one another through hard seasons. Everyone is welcome, and everyone belongs.

Belief

The Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible Word of God — the sole and final authority for what we believe and how we live. There is one God, and He has revealed Himself as Father, through His Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit by outpouring. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh — both God and man. A relationship with Him begins with simple faith and obedience to His Word. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Colossians 2:9; John 3:5.)

Faith

Faith isn't just believing — it's acting on what you believe, the way the men and women of Scripture did. At KTL you'll see faith expressed in fervent prayer, lively worship, and a church family that shows up for God and for each other. We believe the supernatural gifts of the Spirit — including healing — are for the church today, and we make room for God to move.

What We Believe

Keys to Life Tabernacle is affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International.

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, and our final authority for faith and daily living. (II Timothy 3:16)

God

There is one God. He has revealed Himself as Father, through His Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh — both God and man. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16)

Salvation

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation, which comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Gospel

Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We answer the Gospel with repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues — the Acts 2:38 pattern. (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:38)

Christian Living

We love God and people, live holy lives inside and out, and worship with joy. The gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. (Hebrews 12:14; I Corinthians 12:8-10)

The Future

Jesus Christ is coming again for His church, followed by the final resurrection and judgment; the righteous inherit eternal life. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15)

Meet Our Team

In God's church, everybody has a part to play. At Keys to Life Tabernacle, church isn't a performance to watch — it's a family to belong to and a team to serve on. From the pulpit to the prayer line to the kitchen, there's a place for your hands and your gifts. Come meet the team — and find your place on it.

Leonard and Shawna Rafferty

Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Leonard Rafferty leads Keys to Life Tabernacle with a preacher's heart and a shepherd's hands. You'll find him praying with the men at conference, teaching the Word on Thursday nights, and greeting folks like family on Sunday mornings — because to him, that's exactly what they are. His preaching is searched out of the Scriptures and aimed at real life: repentance, a fresh start in Jesus' name, and the power of the Holy Ghost for today. Come hear the Word — and shake the pastor's hand while you're here. He'd count it an honor.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

-Acts 2:38

The Family Table

Some of the best fellowship at Keys to Life doesn't happen in the sanctuary — it happens around a table. We fire up the grill for harvest barbecues and summer cookouts, set up a tent on Main Street for the International Festival (nachos, homemade chili, and baked goods), and every year we open our doors for a free Thanksgiving dinner for the community — no strings, just a good meal and good company. That's who we are: a church that feeds people, body and soul. Watch the Events section and come hungry.
